Papermoon Gypsys came about because Kenny "Big Daddy" Williams (guitarist, songwriter, producer and businessman) Diana Rein joined forces to form the hottest new band in the OC.. Together, along with Rich Smith on drums and Joe Dolci on bass, they have been playing concerts, clubs and many private events. They have Wednesday recency at Costello's in Mission Viejo Their new CD's, both are filled with the many influences they have, bringing some fresh new music to the world. You can hear rock, blues, latin and pop mixed with RnB. Never the less it is all Blues based. Their live shows are a power house of Blues as the Gypsys want to bring something different live than what's on the album. You never know what you might see with the huge stage presence of Diana Rein and the pyrotechnics of Kenny "Big Daddy" Williams guitar. He might play not only behind his back but on his head or on the ground (his longtime friend Guitar Shorty influenced that). Drummer Rich Smith is a time clock on fire as seen when they do "Stonefree" and let loose at the end along with Joe Dolci keeping it solid with some big bottom. They have been featured on KJAZZ with Gary "Wagman" Wagner and KSBR with Bob Goodman and several times on different shows on KX93.5 FM out of Laguna Beach. Also, they have been one of the highest trending stream on "Alert The Globe" everytime they have been streamed around the world, having been viewed by several members of The Stones. They are being reviewed in the UK by Fireworks Magazine. They've played every venue in the area and have even traveled to Hawaii to play. They've been part of "The Real Blues Festival", Summer Concert series, Whale Festival,Del Mar Fair, countless street fairs. All of this in the span of less than 2 years. Catch the fever Gypsy style. Oh and yes they spell Gypsys wrong because of their homage to Jimi Hendrix which they prove in their rendition of "Stone Free" and "Gypsy Eyes" and "All Along The Watchtower".
Kenny is also a DJ on KX93.5 FM every Friday night @ 5:00pm-7:00pm, with the "Laguna Blues" show. Bringing the blues to Southern California out of Laguna Beach.
